Becki Newton

Becki Newton, who was born from New Haven in Connecticut, was born within Guilford the state of Connecticut. Becki Newton is of English and Czech descent and began performing shows and musicals at local theaters, and was a student at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with a B.A. with a major in European History. Newton, a Penn school student was also was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. Newton, after graduating from Penn in 2006, transferred into New York City where she found roles on TV for companies such as Olive Garden. Newton was the character Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 to 2010. Newton as well as the co-star Michael Urie co-hosted The Official Ugly Betty Blog. She was also a part of ABC.com's Mode After Hours webisode series. Ugly Betty, which had four successful seasons by then, was cancelled in 2010. This gave the show the chance to be given a proper conclusion. Newton was a guest at the New York City Center's Encores at the end of 2009. performance of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was produced by Jerry Zaks. Newton portrayed Molly Gray opposite her real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton made an appearance in Love Bites.
